Straight-up Digital Marketing runs and operates the website at straightupdigital.ca. This page explains what personal information I collect through the site, how I use it, and who else handles it along the way.
By using this site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. I don’t sell your information, and I don’t share it with anyone except as described on this page.
What I collect
I only collect what you choose to send me:
- The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number (optional) and a message. It also records which link or button brought you to the form, so I can tell which parts of the site are working.
- The newsletter signup asks for your email address.
I use this information to reply to you, to provide any services you hire me for, and to send the newsletter if you signed up for it.
Log data
Like most websites, this one is served by a hosting provider that automatically records basic information about each visit. This can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser, often used to recognize repeat visits or measure how a site is used. This site doesn’t set any cookies of its own. To understand how the site is used, such as how many people visit and which pages they view, it uses Umami, which I host myself on this same domain. It counts visits without cookies and without following you across other websites, and the figures are never shared with anyone else.
Some embedded content, such as the videos on the testimonials page, comes from other services that may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Service providers
A few outside services help run this site. They handle your information only to provide their service to me:
- Splitforms receives what you submit through the contact form and newsletter signup, and delivers it to me.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps the log data described above. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
- YouTube, owned by Google, provides the embedded videos. See the Google privacy policy.
How long I keep it, and your choices
I keep the information you send me only as long as I need it: to reply to you, to do any work you hire me for, and to keep the business records that come with that work. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time through the contact page. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter whenever you like.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information. That said, no method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites I don’t operate. If you follow one, their privacy policy applies, not this one, so it’s worth reviewing theirs. I’m not responsible for the content or practices of other sites.
Children’s privacy
This site isn’t intended for anyone under 18, and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If I learn that a child under 18 has sent me personal information, I’ll delete it. If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child has done so, please get in touch.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date, and take effect as soon as they’re posted.
Questions
If you have questions about this policy or your information, reach me through the contact page.
